Rebel Audio: chat with AI to launch a podcast in minutes

Rebel Audio is a new AI podcasting platform where you upload audio and chat with AI to generate titles, cover art, clips, and publish to 10+ platforms in one click.

A new AI-powered podcasting platform just emerged from SXSW with $3.8 million in seed funding and a bold advisor: Mark Burnett, the TV producer behind Survivor, The Apprentice, and Shark Tank. Rebel Audio wants to make launching a podcast as easy as having a conversation with AI.

The core idea: you upload your audio file, then chat with an AI assistant to handle everything else — titles, descriptions, cover art, social clips, and publishing. No editing skills. No juggling five different apps. No production team required.

An AI assistant that does the heavy lifting

The standout feature is a persistent AI chat panel that appears on the right side of every screen. You type natural language requests — "Give me a catchy title for this episode" or "Create cover art with a sci-fi theme" — and the AI executes them instantly with green checkmark confirmations.

There's even a "Fill all with AI" button that generates your show name, description, and cover art in a single click. The AI created a show called "Sonic Branding for Startups" in the demo, complete with a cinematic astronaut illustration generated from a text prompt.

Smart clips find your viral moments

One of the hardest parts of podcast marketing is creating short clips for social media. Rebel Audio's "Smart Clips" feature automatically scans your episode and identifies the most shareable moments — complete with thumbnails, titles, time ranges, and speaker labels.

You can also describe what kind of clips you want ("Find the moment where we talk about pricing") and the AI will locate them. A full clip editor with waveform timeline, video preview, and AI-generated titles rounds out the feature.

Translate your podcast into 48 languages — in your own voice

Perhaps the most striking feature: Rebel Audio can translate your entire episode into 48 languages using voice cloning. That means your podcast sounds like you speaking Spanish, French, German, or Italian — not a robotic text-to-speech voice. Each translation creates a new show as a draft, ready for review before publishing.

One-click publishing to everywhere

When your episode is ready, a single "Publish" button distributes it to 10+ platforms simultaneously — including Spotify and Apple Podcasts. You can publish immediately or schedule for a specific date and time. Rebel Audio claims a potential reach of 500 million+ listeners across all platforms.

Built-in analytics track total listens, episode performance, and recorded time across all your shows in one dashboard.

How it compares to the competition

Rebel Audio vs. existing podcast tools:

vs. Descript: Descript is the editing powerhouse. Rebel Audio trades editing depth for AI automation — you don't need to learn an editor at all.

vs. Riverside: Riverside excels at remote recording with multiple guests. Rebel Audio focuses on post-production and distribution instead.

vs. Spotify for Podcasters: Free but basic. Rebel Audio adds AI cover art, smart clips, voice-cloned translations, and multi-platform publishing.

Unique to Rebel Audio: The AI chat interface, cover art generation, and 48-language voice cloning. No competitor offers all three.

Who's behind it

CEO Jared Gutstadt — founder of Audio Up, a podcast and music company — unveiled the platform at SXSW on March 13, 2026, at LaunchTN's Tennessee House. The Nashville-based startup has a team of 2-10 people, and the $3.8M seed round was announced March 11, 2026.

The Lattice Partners co-founders tested it early and said: "We used Rebel Audio to launch our podcast in minutes. The AI tools make distribution and marketing effortless. It's like having a full production team on day one."
